What We Offer
Our Sports Surfacing Division offers "One Stop Shop" for all your surfacing needs. We offer high quality Colored EPDM's, Buffings, Polyurethane Binders, Rubberized Mulch, Landscape and Playground Tiles. Our manufacturing facility is located in Wapakoneta, OH. We have excellent freight discounts in place that are passed on to our customers with coordination from the time you place your order to delivery on your job site.
Production hours: 7:00 am -3:00 pm. Orders must be received by 1:00 pm for same day shipment, no exceptions!
Colored EPDM's, Colored Mulch, are offered in a wide color selection in various sizes.
Polyurethanes are available in both aromatic and aliphatic binders for various climate conditions. 5 gallon pails and 55 gallon drums are available.

EPDM colorido
Midwest Elastomers colored EPDM exceeds the ASBA requirements of 20% rubber hydrocarbon content. Customers will enjoy a softer feel, enhanced UV protection and a brighter appearance. There are 14 different colors to choose from. See color selection.

SBR / EPDM
Although these products which are supplied throughout the industry are considered post industrial scrap rubber, MEI sets Internal Quality Standard which allow only the best feedstock to be accepted for granulation. Our finished products are 99.9% contaminate free and contain less than 2% fines.

* Black EPDM & SBR are produced from post-industrial scrap. Given the fact that many different sources are utilized for this type of material, elongation and tensile strength cannot be accurately determined. However, all materials must satisfy MEI's stringent quality standards prior to processing.
UV Testing
Color change after 5 years* of ultraviolet light exposure is measured under fluorescent, sunlight and horizon lighting. Color change is measure in E units.
* Note: results of less that 10 E unites are considered to have little color change. Results of 20 or more E units are regarded as having a significant color change.
* Length of time is an approximate as no set standard exists for accelerated UV testing

We provide quality granulated rubber products and polyurethane binder to Sports Surfacing and Industrial/Commercial Flooring customers in accordance with our ISO 9001:2015 based quality system.
Utilizing post-industrial scrap rubber for our black, granulated products and virgin compounds for our colored EPDM we ensure quality materials are processed by performing these tests on our raw materials:
